Dahr Jamail is one of a few exceptional independent journalists to cover the Middle East and we are fortunate he is currently touring the UK. Speaking in Glasgow Dahr covered a wide range of topics on the Iraq war including the surge, propaganda in Iraq, US Global Hegemony, privitisation, corruption, Winter Soldier and resistance within the US military. I'd only heard of such resistance in the Vietnam war and was interested to hear Dahr talk about soldiers refusing orders - instead of carrying out 'search and destroy' missions soldiers were doing 'search and avoidance.' Dahr talks for 50 minutes which is followed by a 50 minute question and answer session chaired by Idrees.
